About me
My name is Natasha Millard, and I have been an art educator for 16 years. I have had the joy of teaching artists of all ages, from 1 to 96 years old. My journey in teaching began at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, where I worked as an art instructor and curator intern, but I quickly realized that my true passion was being in the studio with students. I have taught elementary art for 13 years and high school art for 3 years.
I love teaching art because it has the incredible ability to allow every person to showcase their unique individuality. It is a place where we can embrace what makes us different and nurture creativity while learning to see failures not as endings, but as opportunities that lead us down unexpected and meaningful paths.
Perhaps my greatest gift as a teacher came the day my first child was diagnosed with autism. Through that journey, I have learned so much more about what it truly means to be inclusive and to embrace different ways of thinking, creating, and communicating. Knowing my son has given me the unique privilege of understanding the importance of teaching in ways that allow every individual to be their true, authentic self.
