I have dedicated 31 years to education, working in both private and public schools. During that time, I taught 4th, 2nd, and 1st grade in traditional classrooms, as well as serving students in grades K–4 in a virtual learning environment. In addition, I have spent 25 years in the library field as a librarian at all grade levels K–12, a library director, and an instructional technology director.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Texas State University (formerly SWT), my master’s degree in Library Science from Texas Woman's University, and my doctorate in Organizational Leadership with an emphasis in Learning with Integrated Technologies from Abilene Christian University. My dissertation focused on a virtual school serving more than 1,900 students in 95 countries and explored how the school provides online professional development for teachers.
I truly enjoy working with children and supporting teachers. This will be my fifth year in Prosper Independent School District, and I am so thankful to be part of the team at Sam Johnson Elementary School!
