Think College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) is strictly for high schoolers? Think again. This session reframes the K–5 "Explorer" phase, shifting it from passive career awareness to active problem-solving and critical thinking. We will move beyond the classroom walls to transition students from Curious Observers into Active Investigators. By intentionally fostering academic stamina and self-awareness in the early years, we empower our learners to break boundaries—unlocking advanced coursework and elite CTE pathways long before they ever set foot on a secondary campus. Participants will leave with a clear roadmap to navigate the unique programs and pathways available within Prosper ISD, ensuring every student is equipped to own their future.
This session is meant to shine a light on all of the incredible activities that College and Career students at Hays Middle School have been involved in this past year. The goal is to encourage other middle schools to also put some of these opportunities in place to help our students prepare for the future. Also this is a good way for our high school CTE teachers to collaborate as well. For example, we have collaborated with Rock Hill with putting together opportunities for our kids that turned out amazing.

Cultivating a student’s CCMR mindset begins well before high school; it starts by reimagining the 'Navigator' phase as a strategic launchpad for student agency and long-term CCMR success. This session reframes the Middle School "Navigator" phase, shifting it from passive course selection to a strategic engine for student agency. We will explore how to transition students from Active Investigators to Informed Designers. By fostering a deep connection between classroom content and future "Why," we empower students to unlock high-school-credit courses and elite CTE tracks long before they step onto a high school campus. Participants will leave with a clear roadmap to navigate the specialized programs and endorsement pathways available within Prosper ISD, ensuring they can support every student in their quest to achieve a personalized and accelerated secondary experience.
Think CCMR is just a data point on a spreadsheet? Think again. This session reframes the High School "Architect" and Post-Secondary "Pilot" phases, shifting them from a quest for a diploma to a strategic engine for professional autonomy. We will explore how to transition students from Informed Designers to Skilled Operators who graduate with a "License to Thrive." By focusing on the "Triple Crown" of readiness—College, Career, and Miltary—we empower students to build the bridge to their own future. Participants will exit with a roadmap to support students as they navigate Prosper ISD’s specialized programs and endorsement pathways, ensuring every graduate does more than just 'launch'—they arrive at their destination ready to lead.
Building a toolkit of connection strategies designed to foster a deeper connection with students without adding hours to your workload. We will discuss how to transform the classroom into an inviting, inclusive, and connected learning environment for optimal student success. We will discuss the why, the brain, and creative ideas to implement in your classroom from day 1.
