Building Intentional Learning Progressions: Designing with the End in Mind Through Backwards Planning (2 hours session) (136)
Thursday July 30, 2026 10:00am - 10:50am CDT
In this focused ppart one session (part two offered in the afternoon), secondary educators explore how backward design transforms rigorous assessments into clear, teachable learning progressions. Using a real classroom example, participants analyze the skills students need for success and examine how those skills are intentionally scaffolded across a unit.
Educators will challenge the myth of “teaching to the test” and instead learn how strong assessments drive meaningful, transferable learning.
