How do I take pre-existing curriculum for my general education classroom lessons, and adapt them for students receiving functional academics instruction in special education, as well as those enrolled in other centralized programs? The goal of this session is equip educators how to preserve the integrity of grade-level content while making it accessible, meaningful, and applicable to students who require modified, life-skills-based instruction. This idea is shaped by one core belief: learning must be meaningful, accessible, and usable in real life. True access comes not from creating an entirely new lesson, but from reframing the lesson itself.
